Gambassi Terme

Gambassi Terme welcomes participants in the natural simplicity of an ancient village, rich in historical and architectural beauty, in a context of serene hospitality. The finish of Stage 30 will be a unique emotion: the medieval village, the eighteenth-century park, and the refreshment and social spaces will accompany the final part of the event.

Runners and walkers will arrive in Gambassi Terme immersed in a suggestive setting, with shady holm oaks sloping towards the Park and the village as a backdrop. Walking along the stone road and the red brick walls of the Via Francigena towards Porta a Chianni, you will encounter the fascinating Piazza del Castello, a place of peace and beauty, which embodies the tranquil soul of the village.

The palaces with simple architecture, unchanged for almost a thousand years, elegant in their simplicity, and the open spaces offer an unforgettable view, perfect for a moment of relaxation and admiration after such an intense race. The village of Gambassi Terme will reserve for athletes and spectators the opportunity to discover its deep connection with the Via Francigena, in many places still the same as when the Bishop of Canterbury Sigeric stopped here more than eight centuries ago.
